Maarga Workshops @ Chennai

Maarga , Chennai (www.maarga.in) plans to conduct weekend workshops every month, by eminent musicians. These would typically span a session with 4-5 krithis. Every batch would be a very small group, with 15-20 ppl, to enable individual attention. There would also be a QA session following the workshop. Participants will also be given a chance to render select kritis from the workshops during our group rendition concerts.

Some of the themes to be featured in the upcoming months are:

As these will be advanced lessons, a prerequisite of prior musical training is expected from the participants.

Maarga - '08 - Volunteers

Maarga requires the help of a lot of volunteers, for the events that will be happening on March,2nd , 2008. For more details about the event , check out our website www.maarga.in .

Maarga - '08 - Sponsors/Donors

Maarga is very pleased to announce its annual music competition Maarga-'08 for school children.
Its open to all school children from the city. All the other details regarding the competition can be found in our website under the events link.

What are we looking for ?
We are currently looking forward to donors/sponsors who can partner us in this event.
We are expecting around 150 participants , who will attend the competition along with their parents. So if you are a company, we assure you maximum publicity. Banners in and around the auditorium, stalls, etc. could be arranged.

Besides the above, sponsors can directly sponsor a part of the expenses viz. certficates, brochures, freebies to participants, prizes, mic charges, etc. We can send our expenditure list for you to choose from.

The event will be inaugurated by Shri P.Unnikrishnan.Attended by more than 150 participants, with their parents.This will be followed by Sanmaarga, a thematic concert by Shri O.S.Thyagarajan - Vocal, Pudukottai Shri Ambika Prasad - Violin and Shri A.V.Manikandan - Mridangam .

So publicity will be maximum.

Hi all,
First of all What is Maarga ?
Maarga is the Educational Initiative wing of DPS-AIM (Delhi P sunder Rajan's Academy of Indian Music) which is a non-profit organisation.

What does Maarga strive to do?
Maarga strives at imparting knowledge of all kinds to one and all, because Maarga believes that
"The path of knowledge leads us to truth"

Is Maarga only into music?
No. Maarga as mentioned above, is into education of all kinds in all spheres. Be it arts or sciences or personality development, Maarga believes that to shape one's personality in totality, all the three (arts,sciences and personality development) should be equally nurtured.

Is Maarga a sabha?
Though maarga might conduct some art shows from time to time, Maarga is not and will not be a sabha.

How can you contribute to Maarga?
Maarga requests your support in its own Maarga. Besides, if you are interested in partnering with us in our various ventures donations/sponsorships are also accepted.
